Dr Bernadette Carelse offers educational psychology services to families and school staff. If you are a member of a school, or a parent/carer, and are looking for EP consultation and or further assessment for a child (or young person), this is for you.
STEP 1 – CONSENT for EP INVOLVEMENT: The first step is to get consent from the parents/carers of the child/young person for my involvement as an Educational Psychologist. Here is the link to the consent form.
STEP 2 – CONSULATION: Once the form is returned, the next step is to have one or more consultation sessions. The first one is called an initial consultation and subsequent ones are ‘consultation reviews’. They each last 40 to 60 minutes and cost £150. Please book in advance with a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of £50. Each consultation session includes:
- An online session with myself, the EP and the parents of the child/young person. The initial consultation may last up to an hour and consultation reviews may be shorter.
- After each session, there will be a “Record of Consultation”. These are notes from the session and a record of what was discussed, the psychological analysis that took place, including subsequent reflections and recommendations made. The consultation notes will be provided within a week of the session, and once full payment has been received or included in the EP Report if there is a decision to have an in-depth assessment.
STEP 3 (optional) – OBSERVATION AND ASSESSMENT: From the consultation, it may be apparent an in-depth ‘psychological assessment‘ of your child/teenager is needed. This costs £1000. This can be booked once full payment for the initial consultation is received.
If you would like to know more about this, please contact Dr Carelse.
