Paws .b is a well structured and evidence based mindfulness programme for pupils in primary schools.
Paws .b is a mindfulness training course for primary school children in Years 3 to 6. It was developed by the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP). This is a non-profit organisation whose aim is to encourare, support and reserach the teaching of secular mindfulness in schools.
In order to be able to deliver Paws .b, Dr Bernadette Carelse has participated in a certification programme. She also is part of an international network of Paws .b teachers and gets regular supervision for teaching mindfulness to children as well as adults.
Paws .b is offered formally as a series of 6 one-hour PSHE lessons. It also encourages much informal practice in the way that it integrates the learning and practice of mindfulness in all National Curriculum subjects and in the children’s everyday lives.
