“To teach in a manner that respects and cares for the souls of our students is essential if we are to provide the necessary conditions where learning can most deeply and intimately begin”  Bell Hooks (1994)

Holistic Education was initially founded in 1999, by Bernadette Carelse.  It was developed to integrate complementary approaches into mainstream settings where there is an evidence-based for such interventions and a need for doing so.

It provides support and training for school staff, families and children, focusing on improving the access to quality training in mindfulness in educational settings, yoga taught with a mindfulness approach and holistic therapies including shiatsu and chi nei tsang.
